City’s campaign to become an established top four side continues apace. An important season will now see striker options reinforced and a valuable utility man’s suspension questioned…

The MUEN confirmed this morning that Vfl Wolfsburg centre forward Edin Dzeko has passed his medical and is all set to be unveiled by the club on Friday morning ahead of City’s weekend trip to Leicester.

Meanwhile, City’s very own bravehearted battler Pablo Zabaleta is the subject of an FA appeal by The Blues against the red card he received during the 0-0 draw at Arsenal.

Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna had become involved in a heated touchline clash in the 89th minute in which Sagna was clearly the more culpable with his repeated head thrusts towards the City player who stood his ground. Both players were sent off by referee Mike Jones. It was Sagna’s second sending off in as many months and it is doubtful that Arsenal will also appeal.

The decision regarding Zabaleta, a key member of Roberto Mancini’s squad will be made also on Friday morning.
