Roberto Mancini’s managerial stock has continued to rise dramatically as he’s calmly seen through everything thrown at him under the intense spotlight of being the Manchester City boss.

Mancio has been pilloried in some quarters for making City’s the meanest defence in the Premier League, but the former Italian international forward knows what makes strikers tick. The dapper City gaffer has footballing credentials that none of his rivals at the top of the league this month can match.

With 36 caps backed by 525 career league appearances which generated 156 goals, his finishing was exceptional.
