If you are still fed up over Saturday’s result, can I suggest that you head along to Ewen Fields, home of Hyde FC, this evening, where I’m sure you will be enthralled and entertained by the Elite Development Squad, who at 7pm will face Arsenal.

This has not generally been a ‘reserves’ fixture with Arsenal usually in the southern half of the Barclays Premier Reserves League, but the new format pitches the Blues up against another side who play with adventure and youth in a comfortable attacking style.

Those of you that watched the recent home match against Aston Villa cannot have been disappointed, so here is another opportunity to come and see our youngsters in action.

It may have dawned wet and windy, but don’t let that put you off…unless you’d rather watch a team from just outside our beloved city playing somebody from north of Hadrian’s Wall on TV. I know where I’m going!!

Andy Welsh’s lads play open attacking football at pace with a ‘keep-ball’ ethos, moving forward quickly to find the breaks to score goals. Arsenal as we know play that style, sometimes more patiently, but then attack the box quickly. This promises to be an excellent match and it happens tonight on the first class playing surface at Ewen Fields.

I hope we see you there!!
