Espanyol have a new management team in place and are considering their options. No doubt his salary will be a big factor.
Paco Herrera, Espanyol’s Sport Director told skysports.com:
‘We have received the offer for the loan but have still not given an answer,’
Elano’s time at City started so fantastically well and the quicksilver Brazilian set the bar very high early on.
But his performances this season have been a pale shadow of those we saw in the first few months under Sven-Goran Eriksson.
Most notably his public outburst over a lack of starts for City this season being followed up by some abysmal showings looks likely to have convinced Mark Hughes, who to his credit has given almost every fit squad member a crack this season, that he’s seen enough.
