Togo has pulled out of the Africa Cup of Nations after their team bus came under heavy gunfire in Angola, leaving a reported four dead, including members of the team staff, and several injured.

Togo captain and City striker Emmanuel Adebayor will head home to his family, along with the other survivors of the fatal incident.

Manchester City has stated that: ‘It has been made clear by manager Roberto Mancini and senior officials that Emmanuel will now be given as much time as he needs to recover from the horrific attack.

Organisers have insisted that the tournament will go ahead, although there will always be a question mark over whether Angola should have been chosen to host the tournament in the first place.

Should the ACN still be allowed to go ahead? What effect will this have on the World Cup, if any? Have your say NOW. Register here and enjoy getting involved.
