Broadcasters, journalists and football fans in China are beginning to take an interest in Manchester City Football Club.

Evidence

On the odd occasion and when I search the internet for live City games I end up stumbling across numerous Chinese TV links. The commentary, in general is in the local language but there are occasions when I hear the regular Sky Sports English commentators, such as Martin Tyler describing the game (especially when the match is being played on a Saturday afternoon UK time).

Only a few years ago the China sports press would have rarely mentioned Manchester City, but that has changed, especially since the club has emerged as one of the most talked about teams in the world.

MCFC is quickly becoming a global brand. Why? Because the club is able to attract the best players on the planet. And of course, the Premier League is the most watched football league in the world.

If anyone reading this article is based in China or you’ve recently been to that part of the world can you let us know if bars and restaurants show City matches. Plus, and in your opinion has the City revolution really reached China?
