Down from seven injuries two weeks ago to just one (left-back Benjamin Mendy – knee) Pep, for the first time in a while is spoilt for choice.
Pep’s Pre-Match Press Conference
‘I saw the game (Wigan) against Bournemouth. Bournemouth are one of the teams I like to watch the most in the Premier League and they were able to beat them.
‘And I think in the FA Cup, every season, there are a lot of surprises. We are going to prepare as good as possible for this game.
‘All throughout history you always have these kind of situations happen.
‘It would be good for my players not to think too much of the final next Sunday. They think about the final next Monday.
‘I think that is the important thing for that game.
‘It’s one game, the chance to go to the quarter finals and we are going to prepare as much as we can.’
Predicted Starting XI
Pep will keep faith with domestic cup competition favourite Claudio Bravo in goal. Meanwhile, I have a sneaky suspicion we’ll see Yaya Toure playing centre midfield alongside Ilkay Gundogan with Fernandinho just behind.
My other gut feeling is that Pep will give Gabriel Jesus a runout (60 minutes) as a lone striker.
The FA Cup quarter-final draw is set 👊
Sheff Wed or Swansea v Rochdale or Spurs
Man Utd v Brighton
Leicester v Chelsea
Wigan or Man City v Southampton
