The Football Association has rejected City’s appeal over Ousmane Dabo’s sending off during Monday’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of Reading.

Dabo was harshly shown a straight red card by referee Howard Webb following an aerial challenge with Steve Sidwell. Webb is gaining a bit of history with City having also sent off Jihai Sun in similar harsh circumstances in last year’s FA Cup – I wonder if he’s a closet Red by any chance ?

Most independent reports and the TV commentators agreed that the sending off was undeserved. As I predicted in my article earlier in the week, I was convinced the FA would not have the bottle to overturn a referee’s decision, even though it was an obvious error, and sadly for us, my fears have been confirmed – shame on you FA !

City will now pay a heavy price as Dabo will serve a three-match suspension and miss the matches against Blackburn, Chesterfield in the Carling Cup and West Ham.

Dabo’s red card was the second shown to a City player so far this season following Bernado Corradi’s sending off at Stamford Bridge.

Are City being singled out for special treatment? It sure feels like it !
