The Football Association has banned Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips for three league games.

SWP was found guilty of violent conduct for an incident during City’s recent 1-0 defeat to Stoke.

Incident

Potters midfielder Rory Delap was sent off for kicking the ball at City`s winger but Wright-Phillips’ reaction went unnoticed by referee Martin Atkinson at the time.

Following the game the match official watched the video and stated that had he witnessed the retaliation he would have immediately sent him off as well.

The ban comes into immediate effect, which means City will be without Sean for the away trips to Portsmouth, Liverpool and West Ham.
