Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas has followed swiftly in the footsteps of his manager today in talking Manchester City…

‘Everyone chooses their own politics and everyone decides how to win. They have a lot of money. They are taking advantage of it, and that’s it. It is not our style, but we respect everyone’s decision.’

Vote of er, approval given, the brilliantly talented 23 year old then links second placed City’s recruitment policy which saw 6 players arrive and 20 depart this summer to team spirit:

‘You cannot buy the spirit in one year. You need a few years to get everyone together and to get to know each other well, and it’s not easy. You don’t make a team in one season or two.’

To date, Roberto Mancini has had to rely upon the nucleus of last season’s squad due to an inability to field all 6 of his new signings through injury. Fabregas concedes that for City it is a case of so far so good:

‘…of course, they are in a very good position. They have all the ingredients to become a great club and we have to fight hard against them.’
