‘Awful’ – Some fans blast ‘terrible’ Man City man who failed to create a chance or take a shot

Manchester City were eliminated from the semi-finals of the FA Cup by Chelsea on Saturday afternoon and Ferran Torres was one of many players who underperformed in the 1-0 defeat, leading to him getting trashed on social media.

The 21-year-old started ahead of Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva but didn’t justify the decision. He failed to create a chance, take a shot or have a successful dribble, resulting in Pep Guardiola hooking him after the hour mark.

Against Chelsea, Torres played for 63 minutes, had only 16 touches, completed 100% of his 10 passes, had one tackle, gave away two fouls, failed to make an interception, failed to whip in a cross, failed to complete a successful dribble, failed to create a chance, failed to take a shot and failed to win an aerial duel.

The Spanish international has made 31 appearances in all competitions, scoring nine goals with three assists. He’s scored six goals in 10 games for the national team too but didn’t show any quality on Saturday and might be taken out of the firing line when City lock horns with Aston Villa on Wednesday.
