‘Magnifique’, ‘Incredible’ – Some fans laud ‘brilliant’ Man City man after Wolves win

|

Manchester City enjoyed a 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday evening and Riyad Mahrez was one of many players that impressed. The 30-year-old had a hand in two of the Sky Blues’ four goals on the night and was deservedly named Man of the Match.

For City’s first goal, Mahrez brought down a crossfield pass on the run and whipped in a dangerous ball that Leander Dendoncker turned into his own net. He nearly had a big hand in a second goal after Aymeric Laporte converted his deflected cross, but VAR ruled him offside.

For City’s third goal, he cooly passed the loose ball into the back of the net after Wolves failed to clear their lines. The Algerian international was a constant threat for City and vindicated Pep Guardiola’s to pick him once more.
