Manchester City suffered a 2-0 defeat to Manchester United on Sunday afternoon and Gabriel Jesus was called out by supporters for his poor performance.
The 23-year-old gave away an early penalty and didn’t register a shot on target before being hauled off in the second half by Pep Guardiola, so he didn’t have the best day.

I don’t like Jesus at all, he’s just a disaster waiting to happen. #MCIMUN #MCFC

I’ve been shocked at how disjointed Man City have been here. They’ve looked nowhere near their usual selves, and Gabriel Jesus is having a terrible game. Centre-forward, post-Aguero, is going to be a problem position for City. #MCIMUN

Against United, Jesus played for 70 minutes, had 37 touches, completed 85% of his 20 passes, created one chance, had two shots without hitting the target, made two tackles, gave away two fouls, had one successful dribble and won three freekicks (WhoScored).
The Brazilian international has made 28 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring 11 goals and supplying three assists (Transfermarkt). He’s only scored two goals in his last seven Premier League games and has managed just two assists since November.
Jesus, who has been substituted on or substituted off in five of his last seven league appearances, has endured goal droughts on multiple occasions in 2020/21 and isn’t proving he can be a prolific striker when Sergio Aguero leaves. City might have to line up competition for the 23-year-old as well as a replacement for the Argentine international.
