Manchester City Legend Neil Young has passed away. In the words today of Club Ambassador Mike Summerbee, ‘We have lost one of our favourite sons’
A scorer of many important goals for The Blues, it was Neil’s legendary strike that won the FA Cup for City against Leicester City in 1969. The club dedicated this season’s FA Cup clash with The Foxes to ‘Nelly’ and produced red and black scarves, the colour of The Citizens kit in that final, for City fans to wear.
The centre forward was deeply touched by the City faithful’s show of support for him as he battled against cancer.
