Much as the sports hacks, pundits and experts out there made very little of the City hierarchy’s decision to introduce price freezes and reductions in admission costs for the new campaign, the club have been rewarded with yet more successful bonding with the fans.
Executive Chairman Garry Cook affirmed:
‘We’ve always known that City fans are passionate and unswerving in their support for the club. The impressive take-up of Seasoncards already shown simply underlines that loyalty.’
The 30,000 seasoncard holders already know that they’ll be seeing a stronger Manchester City next month and manager Mark Hughes confirmed today:
‘If we can get the players we are hoping for we will have more tools at our disposal to do the job. We are trying to address that situation and we feel we are getting closer.
‘Leading into the new season we are in better shape to be better prepared than we were last year, when expectations were the same as they will be this time. Last year we couldn’t fulfil them. This time I think we will.’
