Ferguson Running Scared

It seems to me that Sir Alex, faux socialist and knight of the realm, is panicking just a little bit at the prospect of little City taking the points from Sunday’s derby.

Defeat would leave the rags some 7 points adrift of City and languishing somewhere near the bottom of the league.

With their fickle support already suggesting the title race could be over, defeat in the derby could lead to 1989 style demonstrations calling for the removal of the man that has steered them to unprecedented levels of success.

Ferguson is aware of this and has responded with the feeble attempts at mind games usually reserved for Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea.

City usually warrant little more than a footnote of thinly veiled sarcasm in the form of pity in his pre derby press conferences.

Not this season however. Whether the derby has just come to soon or whether it is because Sven is at the helm Ferguson has come out with all guns blazing.

Apparently City will attempt to kick United off the park to make up for a shortfall in talent.

The suspended Ronaldo was only sent off two derby’s ago because he retaliated to City’s thuggery.

City were apparently outplayed to such an extent that they couldn’t muster a single shot in May’s derby despite the cost of all those blue scarves.

City have only purchased Bianchi and Petrov that were known in footballing circles; the other purchases are all unknowns.

The above four claims can all be attributed to the bitter Scot.

For the record City have played some of the more entertaining football in the division so far this season and have received no red cards compared to yoonited’s one.

Ronaldo was sent off for lashing out at Andy Cole in an act of petulance and revenge (on the wrong player)after Stephen Jordan had gone in tough on the show pony.

Last season’s derby was crap to the extent that both teams mustered one shot each, both were penalties. Not quite the hammering that Ferguson claims to have presided over; more a case of his goalkeeper saving and ours not doing so.

I would question the well being of a man with a proud footballing past if he cannot identify a current Brazilian midfielder, a Croatian defender and a second Brazilian who scored to eliminate yoonited from Europe as players known in footballing circles.

Despite their being no basis to any of the claims he continus to spew more drivel.

Referees don’t protect his players (no FA charge for his comments as yet) despite Kitson receiving a harsh straight red card when Reading recently held the rags at the sty.

It is quite clear that Ferguson is worried. Having spent near on £100 million it is unlikely that the club’s owners will tolerate under achievement. Ferguson knows this and is trying to draw Sven and his squad into some type of psychological warfare and at the same time place pressure on the match referee.

The problem is that the only response he will get from City these days is on the pitch. Win, lose or draw the only manager to emerge with any class out of this derby is Sven.

Fancy a Cabernet Sauviginon Alex? Or you going to run off home with it after you taste defeat?
