I have had 48 hours to get used to it, it`s only a cup final appearance but it feels so much more.
I loved Saturday all day, the night stretched on and on and it was glorious, the company I was in was brilliant but at times like those I remember those people that I used to go the games with that I don`t see anymore.

I would have liked to have been with my mum, to give her a big kiss at the final whistle and reassure her during the 5 minutes injury time.

So this isn`t a big article but just so you know, if you are reading this, I thought of my Mum, Christian, Sid, Andy Trowy, Markie Boy, Matt, Jock, Steve Bradley, Richard from Southport, Gorf, Christine, Peter and John Pipka(RIP).

I enjoyed seeing so many City fans so deliriously happy that 2 grown men burst into tears at full time.

I would have liked to see if my old local pub emptied as quickly as their end of Wembley.

I would have liked to reassure my girlfriend that I`d take a cut nose to win the game and I was fine.

I liked having the chance NOT to say anything to them.

I never sent one gloating text or phone call to any of my red mates, I took the time to celebrate not goad.

Well timed silence is more eloquent than words.
