US magazine Forbes have released their annual football richlist and there have been a few changes in the top 20.
Spanish side Real Madrid lose top spot this year with Manchester United returning to first position in the table for the first time in five years and they go down to third with Barcelona sneaking second place.
The remaining clubs are pretty much what you would expect with the major European players, but again owing to the English television deal and other bumper kit and sponsor deals, eight Premier League sides feature prominently in the top 20, with six sides sitting inside of the top ten.
Compared to last year’s edition, the top 20 this time round average out a worth of $1.48billion and that is a 3% uplift on last year.
