Some say it’s a funny old world and football certainly meets that criteria, especially clubs with a history of ‘ups and downs’.

While Manchester City begin the 2016/17 Premier League season in jubilant mood the same can’t be said for Tranmere Rovers, who, begin this year’s campaign in the fifth tier of the Football League (National League – Vanarama National).

As a Manchester City supporter I certainly know all about the ‘downs’ however, life moves on and now we Blues look forward to the (hopefully) ‘ups’.

Tranmere Rovers FC, via their YouTube channel today (Thursday, 30 June 2016) ventured into their archive footage from a game at Manchester City’s old home ground, Maine Road in the 1996-97 season.
