Jack Grealish fired back after criticism from Graeme Souness about his decision-making in possession, admitting he doesn’t know why the ex-player and football pundit has so much to say about him.
The 27-year-old has received a lot of criticism in the media for his disappointing start to life at Manchester City and Souness is one of many who have been vocal about his struggles.

But Grealish hit back, saying via Sky Sports: “He has a lot of stuff to say (about me). I don’t know what it is and what he says about me. I know my own ability.
“I know he used to say a lot about me not moving the ball quicker, but when I’m playing for a manager like Pep Guardiola who’s telling me to keep the ball as much as possible, that’s what I’ll try and do.”
Souness believed Grealish didn’t possess good vision and was holding on to the ball too long in games, resulting in his frequently getting fouled rather than him creating chances, but the statistics say otherwise.
Vital Man City already looked at how the 27-year-old was the most fouled player in the Premier League for two consecutive seasons but was in the top-three for chances created.
Grealish is the fifth most fouled player in the league this season (2.3 per game) but is joint-11th for chances created (2 per game), so he’s still performing in the final third despite the inconsistency. The England international completes 92.8% of his passes and has 2.7/3.3 successful dribbles a game too, so his vision and decision-making isn’t looking too bad.
