‘He is not happy’ – Man City given boost in pursuit of 24 y/o after Fabrizio Romano update

|

Manchester City had an opening bid for Marc Cucurella rejected by Brighton & Hove Albion and aren’t too keen to match his lofty asking price, so Pep Guardiola is still waiting to sign his left-back this summer.

City’s offer of £30m was quickly turned down by the Seagulls who have requested £50m, but Fabrizio Romano has given an update on the transfer saga that will excite supporters. He claims the 24-year-old ‘is not happy’ with Brighton pricing him out of a move.

Where will Manchester City finish in the Premier League this season?

Romano said on the Here We Go podcast: “I am told that the player is not happy. The player really wants this move to Manchester City. He joined Brighton dreaming of a top English club one day and when Pep Guardiola called him, he only wanted this move to Manchester City.”

If City are patient, they may force Brighton to lower their demands rather than keep a wantaway player on the books. But there is also the risk of missing out on Cucurella if they wait too long, as Brighton will need to replace the left-back before the transfer window shuts.

Cucurella has made 38 appearances in all competitions for Albion since joining on a five-year deal from Getafe, scoring one goal with two assists. The Spanish international created 42 chances, made 28 successful dribbles and whipped in 115 crosses from 35 league games.

But with Cucurella averaging a tackle (93) or interception (30) every 25 minutes, he’s the ideal fullback for Guardiola. City have been linked with Benfica’s Alejandro Grimaldo as a potential alternative to the Brighton defender, but time will tell who they sign.

In other news, who is the Man City target with more goals than Jack Grealish and more assists than Ilkay Gundogan?

What a dreadful approach from City. Offer substantially less than the asking price to unsettle the player. Then wait for possible conflict between Albion and Cucurella to force the price down. Immoral but typical of a so called top club.

Shocking how these so-called journalists trawl the web for such unfounded bullshit then just regurgitate it for some other useless twat to do exactly the same!

When Romano says he’s ‘been told’ you just know that he is another lying cunt as well!!
