Manchester City went into halftime one up following a Gary Cahill own goal but come the end of the second 45 and by the time referee Taylor had blown well into the 6th added minute Chelsea had put three past Bravo and both Aguero and Fernandinho had been sent off.

What on earth happened in the second half and why didn’t City win?

*Kevin de Bruyne hit the bar after the break when he over-stretched with the goal gaping.

*Diego Costa levelling the scores on the hour after easily shaking off Nicolas Otamendi.

*Willian broke away 10 minutes after Costa scored their first and banged the ball in.

*Eden Hazard scored Chelsea’s third and final goal just as the clock struck 90 having brushed Kolarov aside.

Sending’s off

City imploded deep into added time when Aguero lost the plot with a terrible challenge on Luiz. I have to say Kun deserved the red. Then low and behold Fernandinho and several City players ended up pushing and shoving their opposition counterparts and bingo, the referee had only just put his card into his pocket and within seconds it was out again when Brazilian Fernandinho pushed Cesc Fabregas over the advertising boards and that was it. Off he went.

Conclusion

If City had found their clinical finishing they so often do then it’s fair to say we would have scored five. But it wasn’t to be and now Chelsea move four points ahead of Pep Guardiola’s team and remain on top of the Premier League.

Manchester City will be without Fernandinho and Sergio Aguero for possibly the next three or four Premier League games. Deep joy!!
