In an excellent value pre match presser that involved subjects from snow chains to turkeys, hatstand Blackpool gaffer Ian Holloway talked Manchester City.

There’s no doubt at all that Blackpool present a fascinating challenge to City tomorrow and Holloway, who wears his heart on his sleeve is sure to have his troops fired right up:

‘We’ve got a fantastic game to look forward to now. I want some revenge.

‘I think they have improved massively since they played us. They are going from strength to strength.

‘We are going to go to their ground which is quite nice, so I’ve heard. I’ve never been. We’ll see if we can try and beat them this time. I won’t be going there to shut up shop. I won’t be going there to say goodness me, they are fantastic. We’re going to try and attack them. So hopefully it will be a good game.’

In amongst discussing winter breaks, snow chains and turkeys for breeding that he has received as a present from a Blackpool fan, the nutter/genius declared he’d rather not be inside Roberto Mancini’s snazzy shoes:

‘We don’t need any money. We don’t need that sort of thing. We can keep going. But football evolves, your squad evolves and I’ll be looking what’s out there to see what we can do in certain areas.

‘I wouldn’t want Manchester City’s money. It’s quite obscene at times isn’t it to keep all them happy. I’d rather do what we’re doing. It would be nice to have that sort of wage budget to a point but you know, that’s going to cause all sorts of hassle…”If we get anybody on more than you we’ll move you up to him.” What’s all that about?!

‘I’m delighted where we are. I wouldn’t want the pressure he (Mancio) has got, because are they ready for that? We’ll have to wait and see.’

Tremendous stuff and it’ll be all eyes on the Wonga sponsored Blackpool technical area tomorrow for plenty of passion from the Bristol Berserker!
