After just one season at Manchester City, Italian striker Rolando Bianchi has decided to return to his native Italy after signing a five-year deal with Serie A side Torino.

Bianchi was one of Sven-Goran Eriksson’s first signings but it was clear from an early stage the 25-year-old was going to struggle in the Premier League.

In January 2008, City allowed Rolando a four-month loan move to Lazio.

Although no figure has been released, it is thought Torino paid City around the £4m mark, less that half the amount Sven paid Reggina in July 2007.
