Hughes Bids For SWP

The fellas at Guardian Football have it on good authority that City have made an official bid to Chelsea for the right sided services of Shaun Wright-Phillips.

The tabled bid is reported as £10 Million and Chelski are said to be ready to take the loss on board in order to fund other transfers this week.

So the spotlight is on SWP. He has to make a decision sharpish. Top wages and a bench in London where he is happy to live or top wages and a regular start at Eastlands in front of an adoring public who will be prepared to forgive and forget. However, we can be sure that no move will be allowed to take place without his adviser’s blessing.

Now if Thaksin’s City hierarchy can pull this one off, it would prove something of a PR masterstroke with the Blues faithful.

This looks likely to be a busy week for Eastlands’ revolving door.
