Hughes Confirms Lescott Talks

Manchester City manager Mark Hughes has confirmed that the club is in talks with Everton over the proposed transfer of Joleon Lescott.

Speaking after todays win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, Hughes said: ‘My understanding before the game was that the clubs are speaking.

‘I would suggest that is a positive sign, although whether or not anything is concluded only time will tell.’

City’s pursuit of Lescott has been well documented with Everton manager David Moyes reluctant to let his star defender leave the club.

Recently, Moyes seems to have changed his stance after the England internationals reaction to his sides 6-1 loss to Arsenal saw him omitted from Everton’s Europa League squad.

The deal is reportedly worth in the region of £22m.
