Hull boss Phil Brown could be set to offer veteran midfielder Didi Hamann a one-year deal worth £20,000 a week.
Hamann (35) left Eastlands on 1 July 2009 after his three-year contract expired and is available on a free.
The German international believes he has at least another season left in him before he hangs up his boots and takes up a coaching role.
