I’m All Tapped Up!

Not so long ago there was a regular furore every time it was revealed that a player had been directly approached by a club whilst under contract with a rival outfit.

Doubtless there’ll be little or no reaction considering that two of the G14 elite clubs have already been at it to varying extents.

The Guardian revealed this weeks that it transpires Chelsea coach Frank Arnesen had approached the highly self rated Daniel Sturridge while still under contract with Manchester City.

Apparantly Carlos Tevez’s contract at the Swamp expires at the end of the month and it’ll be decision time over where he ends up, but it’s no secret that while the player and his advisers/owners decide upon who to sign for Sir Taggart has been telephoning the striker repeatedly from his holiday home in France.

We’ve since learned that Carlos Ancellotti, Chelski’s latest gaffer has alledgedly made a personal approach to the striker and nobody in the media bats an eyelid.

These approaches are becoming part and parcel of English football at the highest level. Surely they can’t be good for the game.
