Pep Guardiola told his players, staff, physios, everybody not to come to work until Wednesday (7 February 2018). Be with your friends, family, travel, just do what you want.
The City boss announced the three days away from football break before the Burnley game.
I’m not prepared to moan about our performance at Turf Moor. But I did think the majority of the players looked knackered. It was as if they needed to re-charge their batteries.
‘From Saturday afternoon until Wednesday afternoon the doors of the CFA will be closed,’ Pep said during his pre-match (Burnley) press conference.
‘We need to not see each other.
‘They can travel, they can do whatever they want…
‘They are free. For three days they have to forget a little bit about football, be with their families and friends and move on.
‘Wednesday afternoon we have to prepare here, three training sessions for Leicester and Basel, and we have to move on, but we need a break a little bit, everybody.
‘Not just the players, the staff, the physios, everybody.
‘It was a tough, tough period in winter time. We have that chance for three or four days and we give it to them.’
What is everyone doing?
