In support of Gazza!!

Let’s get things straight, as a Manchester City fan I cannot stand Gary Neville. He personifies all that is rotten about football, and Disneyland Trafford in particular. He spouts rubbish on a par with his manager and plays for the national team simply on the basis of who he plays club football for. His comic, aggressive stances and harrassing of referees is nothing short of what you would expect from a rag captain, but let’s get one thing straight at least he has some passion.

The older chuckle’s celebrations yesterday were amusing to say the least. The fact he couldn’t find the badge to kiss made them all the funnier. What concerns me however is, firstly, why are the red dippers moaning and, secondly, why are GMP wasting public money on investigating a player’s celebrations? The guy was pleased his team had scored a last minute winner and had also took unrelenting abuse from the visiting support for 90 minutes so why shouldn’t he rub it back in their faces? Robbie did it last week to the rags and we all applauded, and rightly so.

Everyone moans that football is dying on its feet and then seems to want to complain if a player does something to wind up supporters. Excuse me but isn’t that hypocrisy on the grandest scale? If you can’t take it don’t give it …. simple. if you want passion back in the game, find a place for the player’s, after all it is often said that crowds need a spectacle to rouse them these days and who better as a pantomine villain than the older chuckle himself …. stand up Gary Neville.
