It feels as though, ever since the wheel was invented we City fans have ridiculed Manchester United supporters about not having any connection with Manchester, whatsoever.
I think it’s about time we tried, once and for all to put this myth to bed, don’t you?

According to Facebook research, which was published a couple of years ago, 170,360 Manchester Utd fans live in Manchester, which represents 17.5% of all rags in the UK, but only 1.7% of the 10 million United fans worldwide.
Here are some interesting facts I found while researching this article.
? There are more Man United fans in Indonesia than in the UK.
? There are more Man Utd fans in the Maldives than Norwich City fans in Norwich.
? There are more ManUre fans in Azerbaijan than Ipswich Town fans in Ipswich.
? The smallest identified group of Man Utd fans is the 20 supporters in Sao Tome and Principe – a small island off the west coast of Africa.

The object from the beginning was to confirm what we already knew about United supporters. Yes, the majority of them were actually born / raised / work / have family connections within Manchester or the Greater Manchester area. Right?
We believe we may have managed to achieve this, don’t you (he says – tongue in cheek)?
