International Break Impact Sees Tevez Knacked

AFP Reuters has revealed that Carlos Tevez was injured during Argentina’s 3-1 World Cup defeat. Our transatlantic stars would have been drained for Arsenal at any rate…

Argentina and Brazil’s remaining World Cup clashes against Paraguay and Chile respectively aren’t due to kick off until midnight and 2am British Summer Time on Thursday morning.

Any alarm bells over injuries to Tevez and the earlier reported Robinho can be countered somewhat by the fact that neither jet lagged player would be back at Ringway until 36 hours before kick of against The Gooners at the earliest.

The story is that Tevez has twisted his right knee. Allied to Robbie’s thigh injury, you can never be sure at what rate injuries of that sort will heal.

Well, if this correspondent was patrolling the Eastlands’ technical box on Saturday, I would plan for Tevez and Robinho to not feature and concentrate on getting them fit for the Manchester Derby. A bonus if either of them can make the bench.

What do you reckon? Opportunity knocks for Rigsby Petrov and Craig Bellamy? Benjani still injured of course. Give us your views both here and in the Vital MC Forums.
