Steven Ireland is the fans choice to take on Joey Barton’s central mdfield role for Sunday’s visit of Sunderland.
In a poll taken for this site, 38% of those asked said they believed Steven Ireland was the outstanding candidate for the role.
A further 23% voted for Kiki Masumpa, an endorsement perhaps of his improved form since moving infield.
One of the two may find themselves warming the bench on Sunday however as Claudio Reyna looks set to return to the side for the first time since Boxing Day.
