Michael Johnson had a promising career at Manchester City but having been plagued with one injury after another is it time to say goodbye?

Johnson, who is a self-confessed Leeds United fan signed for City in 2004 from Everton as a schoolboy. In 2006 he played a part in helping the clubs youth team reach the FA Youth Cup Final. The following season he made his Premier League debut against Wigan.

Injury Prone

Johnson (23) began suffering injuries at the beginning of 2008 when an abdominal tear meant he required a double-hernia operation. He did make a brief comeback but in the end the old injury came back to haunt him which meant he was sidelined for over a year.

The midfielder has made various attempts to resurrect his career but in December 2010, Manchester City announced Johnson had suffered a serious knee injury in training which meant he was out of action until the end of this season.

Places for the midfield position are as intense as ever but with an expected summer clearout due at the end of the season the question has to be, with Michael Johnson be one of them?
