Is Jo, City’s erstwhile nowhere man about to named in Roberto Mancini’s 25 man Premier League Squad..?

The 23 year old striker, who arrived in Manchester 2 years ago as a flagship signing of Thaksin Shinawatra’s advisers, endured wretched form month after month which saw him loaned out repatedly last season pending an almost certain departure from Eastlands.

But since the player returned from an erratic loan spell at Galatasaray, he has slowly worked his way into Roberto Mancini’s plans. Reports from Carrington are good, with the lad working hard to impress.

Jo’s loan spells at Everton and Galatasaray were noteable for inconsistent performances and unacceptable off the park behaviour which suggested the player is too hot to handle.

But Mancini is reknowned for bringing young players with wayward track records on, and it could be that Jo, who has had a very good pre season with City and even got the nod ahead of Emmanuel Adeabyor as a substitute against Liverpool this week is close to sealing the most unlikely of career recoveries.

Mancio said:

‘I believe Jo is a good striker. I remember him when he played for CSKA Moscow and I was in charge of Inter Milan. He is a good player.’

It could be that City’s £18 million misfit is about to secure a place as one of City’s strikers with Robinho and Roque Santa Cruz both close to leaving the club this week.
