If you have not read the Burnley Gazette artcile on John Guidetti on Newsnow, please do so with haste.

John has gone to Turf Moor on loan largely on the back of a hat-trick against them in a Reserves match.

At the weekend he came on as sub with Burnley losing 1-0 against Derby County and immediately made an impact to the extent that the Clarets pulled it around and won 2-1 . Guidetti didn’t trouble the scorers but the review of his start there was glowing.

Regular readers of my articles know that I rate this young man, having seen him arrive from relative obscurity as an even younger man.

But you can see a football brain there straight away. You can see a goalscorer there straight away.

He presents an ambling gait not unlike Chris Waddle and like the likeable Geordie he can get past people into dangerous areas on the field. His goalscoring record at Under 18, Under 19 and at EDS levels are phenomenal and it is for that reason that I prompt Roberto Mancini to look at showing him the first team bench. Indeed I even think he set up City’s goal in the Carling Cup defeat.

We have said all season that we need someone to share the goalscoring load with Tevez and Balotelli is showing signs of doing just that. But Adebayor and Santa Claus are not so is it time to blood Guidetti in preparation for next season?

My answer to that is a resounding ‘YES’.
