Junior Blue’s Bayern View From The Touchline

On Wednesday night I found myself applauding the Bayern team off the pitch as they cantered to the dressing room appearing like they had another 30 minutes left in them…

I am not at all really surprised at their energy as their fans were BRILLIANT and really got behind them drowning out almost every City chant. We are definitely not the same crowd for the Premier League clashes, but hold on, before I blame us on the other side of the digital advertising who pay £55.00 for our shirts…wait a minute.

It was perfect football, the term the older men around me were using was ‘men and boys’ as we watched a very ill prepared City team capitulate under the floodlights.

Micah Richards, though full of enthusiasm was a gamble rather than the cool headed meat and veg approach of in-form Pablo Zabaleta. Yaya TourĂ©’s regular 60 successful passes were on this particular night more just about knocking on double figures and he just seemed one metre too short all the time. Joe Hart – bad day at the office, but we NEED to get behind him as fans in the lead up to Christmas. We used up all our lives against Villa and Stoke.

Then there’s James Milner, he was a good choice – just too late!
David Silva and the Beast Negredo were getting there – again too late.

A message to Manuel Pellegrini: a little more urgency I feel Mr. ’60 shades of Grey.’

In fact the only person that seemed to be up for it was the liner on the Colin Bell stand side – I have never seen someone’s arms go up so muc. At one point I thought he was trying to start a Mexican wave all on his own.

Can I just bring this back to basics. My Dad buys my season card (cheers dad – get ya’ back when you retire) but makes me pay for the Cup matches. I have a paper-round and get paid £5.00 a day to get up at 0530. That ticket cost me 4 days pay – did I think that I got value for money…what do you think.

But at least I have seen Bayern’s juggernaut power past, leaving City tumbling like Autumn leaves.
