Report: Club interested in Man City man, would prefer ‘loan to buy’ if £96.7m player leaves

Juventus could be selling Cristiano Ronaldo this summer and already have their eye on potential replacements if he leaves.

Gazetta Dello Sport (h/t Sport Witness) says Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus is one of their targets, but the Old Lady are only willing to agree a ‘loan to buy’ deal due to their current financial situation.

Despite Sergio Aguero joining Barcelona, Jesus has an uncertain future at City as he doesn’t have Pep Guardiola’s trust. The 24-year-old scored 14 goals and made four assists in 42 appearances across the board last season, enduring multiple goal droughts throughout the campaign.

Jesus went nine league games without a goal between November 2020 and January 2021, went five league games without a goal in February and went six league games without a goal between April and May.

The Brazilian international scored just two goals in seven Champions League games and never commanding a starting place, so he might so himself pushed out this summer.

Harry Kane is a target for City, so the Sky Blues may accept offers for Jesus. Gazetta Dello Sport believe Juventus will pounce if they manage to get back some of the €112m (£96.7m) spent on Ronaldo.
