Cardiff City have won the race to sign Manchester City academy graduate Kelvin Etuhu on a season-long loan.

The Bluebirds faced stiff competition in the form of Premier League outfits Wolves and Portsmouth for the 21-year-olds signature.

Cardiff manager Dave Jones said his sides latest capture: ‘We are really pleased to get Kelvin, he’s a Premier League player coming into the club. It looked like he was going to Wolves, but there was a hitch and we stepped in to bring him here.

‘He’s a big, pacey lad who will give us options across the front line.’

Kelvin made his senior debut for City in September 2007’s Carling Cup win over Norwich and featured in Wednesdays win over Barcelona at the Nou Camp.
