The only player who has stood out, head and shoulders above the rest this year is none other than Manchester City and Belgium midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.

As a Blue I suppose I’ll just hold my hands up straight from the off and admit I am definitely biased. But, even if I take my Blue hat off and then look at the list of this year’s candidates then my vote would still go to the most influential player the Premier League has seen in years.

For well over 18-months the 26-year-old has often been described as one of the best modern day advanced playmakers due to his technique, wide range of passing and long-range shooting skills. Now, if that description doesn’t wet your lips it’s highly likely you’re a United fan!
