Kevin Friend
Born in Bristol, and a self-confessed Bristol City and Leicester City supporter Mr Friend came to the media’s attention in 2016 when he was controversially prevented from officiating a Premier League match between Stoke City and Tottenham Hotspur after details emerged about him being a supporter of, and soon to be, league champions Leicester City. The Stoke and Spurs result may have altered the dynamics of the run-in therefore it was deemed by the PL’s hierarchy to remove Friend as, in their eyes Kevin was a conflict of interest.
Season 2016/17
Mr Friend has brandished 73 yellow and one red card during his 21 games.
