City Chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak has taken an unprecedented step in Sheikh Mansour’s ownership of the club by revealing the extent to which Tévezgate is controlled…

Firstly, tonight’s club statement:

‘The club can confirm that Carlos Tévez was found guilty by a disciplinary hearing on 21 December of gross misconduct for serious breaches of contract and was fined six weeks wages. Carlos elected to appeal the finding, which was dismissed by an appeal panel made up of club directors. He has until 30 January to make a final appeal to the Premier League.’

The on strike Tévez has lost almost £10 million in wages and fines. And so the urban myth relentlessly pedalled by anti-City hacks that he is wagging it in Argentina on full pay are dismissed.

The City Chairman took to the press in Abu Dhabi earlier to make the club hierarchy’s distaste for how Silvio Berlusconi’s AC Milan have conducted their public courtship of the ‘homesick’ forward.

City fans long vowed to never want the club to have anything to do with AC Milan again following the way Berlusconi used Kaka’s – never going to happen until Real or Barça came in – transfer dalliance with City three years ago. The Chairman is not impressed at all by their latest antics:

‘As things stand, Milan is not an option for Tévez. Mr Galliani and his advisers have developed a misplaced sense of confidence. If they want to be a consideration in this transfer window they would do better to stop congratulating one another and begin to look at how they would meet our terms…

‘…Paris St-Germain and Inter Milan approached discussions with us in good faith and it is always a positive experience to deal with people with a professional approach.’

Tévez and his adviser stand in no man’s land tonight. Take on City legally and be crushed or hold out for the final hope that Milan will match the £25 million City invested in Tévez in the first place. It’s either this or he continues to go nowhere fast.

City are a powerful, professionally run club now and no mistake.
