City’s Assistant Manager Brian Kidd has underlined the importance of a jubilant club and support keeping it’s feet on the ground in the coming months…

Working in tandem alongside First Team Coach David Platt with Roberto Mancini as the figurehead, the trio make up a formidable management team bolstered by a wealth of playing exeperience. Precisely the ‘been there, seen it done it’ qualifications required to maintain the squad’s focus this summer:

‘People are talking about creating a dynasty but no one knows what is going to happen. No one will be getting complacent here…I was brought up to show a bit of modesty and humility and when you win things you have to be extra humble.’

City having been crowned Champions, captain Vincent Kompany spoke of his frustration at the relentless mercenary tag that has been drip fed by erstwhile big four favouring hacks about City for three seasons. Kidd agrees:

‘People have constantly been taking cheap shots at us. I couldn not believe some of the rubbish that has been said. People cannot question the spirit and camaraderie of the group of players we have here…the lads answered all the criticism they’ve had in those last five minutes against QPR.’
