Lazio left-back Aleksandar Kolarov joins City on a 5-year contract, following the likes of Yaya Toure and David Silva to Eastlands.
The twenty-four-year-old passed his medical, obtained a work permit, and will join up with his new team-mates upon their return to England.
Roberto Mancini was understandably delighted after securing Kolarov’s signature, stating: ‘I first saw Kolarov in his Lazio debut back in 2007, I was impressed by the speed and strength of someone so young.
‘He was composed on the ball had an excellent delivery with his left foot and was technically very able.
“I have watched him a lot since then and so have the Manchester City scouts. His attacking capability is very good. He is fast and can shoot with power and accuracy.
‘I am looking forward to working with him,” the City boss concluded.
Kolarov will compete directly with Wayne Bridge for a place on the left hand side of defence.
