Skipper Vincent Kompany has said that Manchester City’s only aim over the remaining games this season has to be to win each and everyone of them.

Having come off the back of Burnley and Barcelona defeats it was nice to meet a team that didn’t begin with B, so facing off against West Bromwich Albion, scoring three times and taking all three points was exactly what we needed to put the last week behind us.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game Kompany insisted we just had to take it one game at a time and ensure we come out of all of them with all three points.

He did also comment that victory by any means necessary on Saturday was vitally important for the confidence of the team.

‘We needed this win to help restore everyone’s confidence. There are another 24 points to play for and we have to do our best to get as many wins as we can.’

The disappointing thing our skipper acknowledges is that even if we win all remaining eight matches, we are now relying on Chelsea to slip up so a fantastic end to the season may not be enough to retain the title now given the slip ups over the course of the season.

‘Can we win them all? Of course we can but we know that even if we do, it might not be enough because there are no guarantees, but we will be doing our best. We needed to put some things right today and I think we did that. We are team who only wants to win games so this victory was very important. Football is very simple – if you win, you’re the best, if you lose, you’re no good. All I can say us we’ll be doing our best to win our remaining games and see where that takes us.’
