The Citizens defensive rock Vincent Kompany has moved swiftly to underline the importance of the point City gained at The Emirates on Wednesday night…

He told th’official site:

‘I thought we were aggressive at Arsenal, but we were clever as well. Some people might ask ‘why didn’t they try to win the game?’…But if we don’t lose against the top four teams in away games, and we beat the so-called lesser teams at home, you make the calculation…and if the title is within reach, then why not?’

The giant Belgian international went on to tell it like it was because whichever way City’s many enemies dress it up, the onus was on Arsenal to beat The Blues and they couldn’t:

‘I look at the Arsenal game and I see that our team is very hard to beat – and if you are a team that doesn’t lose, that’s half the job done already. It’s another clean sheet, and we’ll win more games than we draw if we keep putting those clean sheets on the board. The first fifteen minutes was the hardest. We had to dig in, and it was really hard at times. But the longer the game went on, the more comfortable we became defensively.’
