Frank Lampard’s loan with City officially expires at midnight, meaning his time with us will be up unless an extension can be agreed?

This hasn’t stopped Manuel Pellegrini from naming him in the squad to face Sunderland tomorrow….

I am assuming that if an agreement to extend this original loan can be agreed before close of play at Premier League offices today, with the necessary paper work going through, then an extension from New York City into January, which was always expected to be the case anyway, can happen?

Should this existing deal expire then even though the transfer window reopens in January ‘officially’ deals can’t be signed off until January 3rd by all accounts when the Premier League transfer window reopens – all very complicated!

You would like to think that Pellegrini is confident that an extension is in place and he’ll be available on New Years Day or he wouldn’t have included him in our 18-man squad would he….
