Mark Hughes’ patient wait for something to give following City’s two rejected bids for The Toffees Joleon Lescott has realised a written transfer request from the England international…

…and Everton have rejected it.

Everton’s gaffer David Moyes stated on the club’s official website:

‘I have always said that we are not selling any players and that hasn’t changed.’

The big question now is following those two knocked back bids of £15 and £18 million, will it be confirmed that City have gone back a third time with an offer the Everton board would find hard to refuse regardless of their manager’s stance?

Should City bag Lescott, then Sparky and his backroom staff can certainly point to a more than successful summer of squad strengthening.

More as soon as we get it…
