Midfielder Marcos Lopes has now sealed his permanent move to Monaco.

It was being reported the other day that the 20 year old Portuguese player would complete the move this week for a fee rumoured to be £8.8million, but with confirmation of the deal coming through from the club, they haven’t disclosed the fee paid.

He spent last season out on loan with Lille, where he made 27 appearances with a return of three goals.

Having joined us from Benfica back in 2011, he debuted as David Silva’s replacement in the cup tie against Watford back in January 2013 and scoring in injury time, he became our youngest ever scorer aged just 17 years and nine days old.

He leaves with a total of five appearances to his name in a City shirt and was our Academy Player of the Year back in 2012-13.
