There’s been some speculation that perhaps Joe Hart’s future could be away from City, although this should come to a complete end next week when he puts pen to paper on a new long-term deal.

A new five-year extension has ‘been agreed in principle’ by all accounts.

Hart still has 18-months left on his current deal so there isn’t any real immediate hurry to see him commit this future but as time does slip by so fast that final six-months to a year would soon be here and then the risk of a player being lost on a freebie rises.

We should not have too much worry about this though….

Manuel Pellegrini has spelt out that it is just ‘a matter of days’ before we get some good news on our no.1 and his commitment to the club being announced, and with him getting back to his best there couldn’t be a better time for the England man who has so far managed to fend off the competition from Willy Caballero, who was brought in over the summer.

The amount that he’ll get paid varies on which report you read, we can safely say that be it a meagre £25m or a whopping £35m (what’s £10m between friends!) over these five-years he will not be left scratching and scrimping down the side of the sofa for any loose change this Christmas, or too many Christmas’ in the future, will he!
